BUT IT WILL BE WORTH IT."

There are many reasons why hockey appeals to such a wide variety of people. For some, it is the pure excitement of putting on equipment and skating with speed across the ice. For others, it is the pursuit of competition and challenge, or even the love of being around a team. Our program is designed to help all players, regardless of skill level or age, improve their overall performance and enhance their understanding of this sport.
We co-founded our Champions Hockey program because we built a love for the game and we wanted to pass on our learnings and experiences in a practical way. We believe the keys to success in hockey are to develop sound fundamentals, for each player to build an understanding of how they can be most effective, and to develop the Champions Attitude.
To us a “Champions Lifestyle” is more than winning. It’s how you conduct yourself off the ice, at school, at work, and in life every day. This lifestyle is what we try to instill in our players. Doing things the right way, for the right reasons. No shortcuts, being polite, ethical and professional, it may be more work and effort for some, but it is work worth doing.
CHAMPIONS HOCKEY - PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR ALL LEVELS
"As the owner of a local skate sharpening business in the city of Fredericton, this past summer I have heard great things about the Champions Hockey Program that Stacy and Dax put on the ice. From both the parents and players at my shop, I hear how much the players like the on ice instruction, and the parents how much there kid has improved their on ice skills. This was my first summer working with Stacy and Dax on the ice and I can honestly say that they both helped my overall game. They worked not only on my stick- handling and puck control skills but also my quick feet and skating ability. All the things that a hockey player needs to work on to reach their full potential. I look forward to working with them again in the future."

"I have known Dax MacLean for 16 years and Stacy Smallman for 5 years.
These two men began working hockey schools over 16 years ago and developed their teaching skills in this regard over that period. They have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of people and gather information and various teaching techniques that keep them on the cutting edge of hockey development for young players. They have also shown a unique ability to be innovative and adjust to the needs of a particular group or player, therefore keeping young players interested and having fun while they learn the skills necessary to play hockey.
I have every confidence that these individuals have the ability to deliver a highly developed program that will be beneficial to the young elite player to a program designed to introduce the game in a fun and exciting way for the beginner. The secret to the success of their program lies in their execution of their sessions on the ice where they are actually interacting with the kids. They are able to relate to the kids on a level that is non threatening, making the kids feel good about what they are doing, and this leads to confidence.
Stacy and Dax recognize the importance of first creating a positive environment, ensuring the kids enjoy the experience. Then they expose the kids to a program suited to their needs and are quickly able to adjust according to improvements. They understand that the number one priority is the kids. That is why their programs have been so popular over the past 8 years and the numbers of returning students each year has been impressive."

"“Very impressed with all facets of this camp. Emphasizes proper skill development in an environment that is fun for the players. The instructors preside over safe, fun, tightly run practices but also find time to provide personal attention to each skater. The instructors are highly qualified yet, importantly, are excellent role models for all involved. Highly recommend.”
