CHA Development Academy
Building Stronger Players from U7 to U13
The CHA Development Academy is one of our most successful long-term development programs for players ages U7 to U13.
Over the past five years, participants have gone on to play U13 through U18 AAA hockey and attend leading prep schools. We have also watched players progress from Recreation to A, A to AA and AA to AAA.
While every player’s path is different, the goal of the Development Academy remains the same: to help each athlete improve their skills, build confidence and continue moving forward in the game.
Experienced Instruction
The program’s lead instructor, Matt Wright, is returning after spending the past two seasons coaching junior hockey. Gabe Guertler, Champions Hockey’s Head of Player Development, will return as one of the program’s main instructors this season.
Together, the coaching staff will provide consistent instruction focused on age-appropriate skill development and individual progression.
A New Two-Day Format
Based on feedback from participating families, the Development Academy will move from three sessions per week to two, with a later afternoon start time.
