TEAM LISTS

We’re thrilled to welcome you and your athlete to our 2025 Spring Hockey Identification Camp! With close to 600 players looking to play Spring Hockey this season at the 2018 to 2012 age groups this promises to be an exciting and competitive event. Our goal is to ensure every player gets a fair look and equal opportunity to showcase their skills during the evaluation process for our multiple teams at each age group. Below, you’ll find key information and guidelines to help the day run smoothly as well as what Group your child is in and what time that icetime is at as well as which team they are on for the session.

Check-In Procedures:

  • Sign-In Time: Please arrive 45 minutes before your child’s scheduled ice time to sign in.

  • Team Information: Let the sign-in coordinator know which ID Camp they are attending, Which group they are in and what team they are on in that group

  • 2012-2018 Red Hounds/Hounds/Red Wings: Players will participate in one of the two sessions on either January 2nd or 3rd.

  • U13-U9 Hornets/Frost. Players participate in both sessions on January 3rd.

  • Following signing in you will be given a jersey with a number and it will be recorded on our sheets. Please make sure your child's number is visible for the evaluators when they put the jersey on to go on ice

Goalies: Goalies please bring your own jersey with a number on it and let the Sign-in coordinator know your jersey colour and number.

Post-Ice Session:

  • After their ice session, players need leave their jerseys hanging in the dressing room.

  • You’ll receive an email following the ID camp for more information

  • 2018 - 2012 Red Hounds/Hounds/Red Wings: You will receive an email by Thursday January 9th with details about if your child will be at the Final Red Hounds evaluation or the final Hounds/Red Wings evaluation session and the date and time. U9 (2016-2017)  Age groups will be Sunday January 19th in the evening. 2018 Red Hounds Final ID Camp TBD.  If you are not interested in participating in your final evaluation session and decide not to play spring hockey this season please let us know asap.

You will have a certain amount of time to confirm. If you do not confirm we will move onto other players. If you are not invited to play on one of our spring teams this season you will receive an email after the selection process is completed. If you are not Interested in playing Hornets or Frost following the ID camp on the 3rd please let us know asap.

Game Format and Rules: Each ID Camp will consist of a full ice scrimmage

  • Warm-Up: 3 minutes.

  • Game Play: Three periods of 18-minute straight time.

  • Staff will manage the doors, and we’ll have two Staff referees on the ice to ensure a safe and fair game. Shift Length will be 90 seconds and players will change on the buzzer.

  •  Goalies: If more than 2 goalies in the group goalies will rotate every 3 shifts.

  • Play Continuation Rule: After a goal, we ask the scoring team to back up to the blue line to allow play to resume quickly and maximize ice time for all players. When the buzzer goes please hussle back to your door. If you have the puck on your stick please leave it where it is.

  • Penalties will be a quick penalty shot.

  • Offsides and icings will be blown down and the other team will get the puck right away

  •  Please share this with your child ahead of time.

Evaluation Process

  • Evaluations will be conducted by a team of coaches and non-parent evaluators to ensure fairness and objectivity.

  • Players will be assessed based on gameplay, skating, and puck skills.

We have divided up the teams but with so many kids and so many plays it is hard to balance teams. Our evaluators are not focused on what the score of these games are.

Our Commitment

With so many talented players attending, our team is dedicated to providing a fair, supportive, and enjoyable environment for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation and support in helping us achieve this goal!

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. We look forward to seeing you at the rink in a couple days for the start of a great 2025 Spring Hockey season!
